PHYSICAL HEALTH CLIENTELE PROGRAM

The mandate of this program is to offer care and services to both out-patient and hospitalized clients, including reception, evaluation, orientation, out-patient and diagnostic services, as well as general and specialized hospital treatment to allow clients to regain their health and autonomy. Palliative care services are also offered.

The following services are included :

Out-patient Clinics :

These include all medical consultation clinics with health specialists.
Schedule: Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Appointment required by calling 450 562-3761, Ext. 4106.
Location: Situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute).

Day Medicine :

Offers nursing and medical services to out-patient clientele.
Schedule: Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. An appointment is required by calling: 450 562-3761, Ext. 4113 or 4313.
Location: Situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute)

Current Services and Vaccination :

Offers general nursing care, subject to a medical prescription, as well as vaccination services.
Schedule: Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. weekends and holidays. Prior appointment required by calling 450 562-3761, Ext. 8131.
Location: Situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute)

Diabetic Education Centre :

A specialized evaluation, education and follow-up clinic for diabetic clientele or those at risk.
Schedule: Open three days per week. Compulsory referral of clients for this clinic from a family doctor (Argenteuil area) required.
Location: Situated at the Polyclinique d’Argenteuil (551 Berry Street, Suite 201,  Lachute).

Emergency Room :

Approximately 30,000 visits are recorded annually at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre Emergency Room. This is an evaluation, diagnostic, treatment and orientation service for clientele requiring urgent consultation.
Schedule: The Emergency Room remains open 24 hours a day.      
Location: Access to the Emergency Room is situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre via the Laurier Street entrance.

Operating Room :

The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre is equipped with an operating room which allows us to perform over 2000 surgical interventions annually. These primarily consist of day surgeries, and minor local surgeries.

Walk-in Specimen Collection Centre :

A Walk-in Specimen Collection Centre is available at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre. Laboratory Service also includes diagnostic services in biochemistry, microbiology and haematology.
Schedule: The Walk-in Specimen Collection Centre is open Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. Clients do not require an appointment, and are welcome to arrive at their convenience during opening hours.
Location: The Walk-in Specimen Collection Centre (no appointment needed) is situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute).

Radiology (medical imaging) Service :

The Medical Imaging Service includes radiology, ultrasound and scanner services.
Schedule: For out-patients, the Medical Imaging Service is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  A prior appointment is required by calling 450 562-3761, Ext. 5170, or Ext. 5151 for scanner procedures.
Location: The Medical Imaging Service is situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute).

Short-term Acute Care Unit :

The Short-term Acute Care Unit comprises 49 beds. It receives clients requiring temporary hospitalization for a range of health care problems.
Location: It is situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute).
Visiting hours for patients’ families and friends are from 12 noon - 2:00 p.m.  and 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. A maximum of two visitors per patient allowed at one time. Only in particular circumstances are visitors authorized to remain with their loved ones at all times.

Palliative Care :

The Palliative Care Unit also has two beds reserved for the palliative care treatment of persons with a terminal condition.

Intensive Functional Rehabilitation Service :

Intensive Functional Rehabilitation Service is intended for both hospitalized and out-patient clientele. This includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and consultation with a social worker. If needed, clients may also have a consultation with a pharmacist.
Schedule: For out-patient clients, these services are available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  A prior appointment must be made by calling: 450 562-3761, Ext. 3173 (physiotherapy) or Ext. 3163 (occupational therapy).
Location: Situated at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (145, ave. de la Providence, Lachute).

Respiratory Therapy Service :

This includes care for both hospitalized and out-patient clientele. Diagnostic services in electro-physiology and respiratory physiology are also offered.
Schedule: For out-patient clients, services are available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  A prior appointment must be made by calling: 450 562-3761, Ext. 4102 or 4103.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Education Centre :

Respiratory Therapy Services also include a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Education Centre intended for the treatment and teaching of clients with respiratory problems.
Schedule: The Centre is accessible by appointment only. Call 450 562-3761, Ext. 6144.
