PARTNERS

The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre, as a “local health and social services network” assures the establishment and coordination of a care and services network to foster the improvement of the health and welfare of the population that it serves.

In order to do so, the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre has developed a partnership with various stakeholders in the area: doctors, specialists, pharmacists, various groups and committees, community organizations, social economy enterprises, non-institutional resources, etc.

 Following is a brief introduction of the Argenteuil Health and Social Service Centre's main partners:

Argenteuil Hospital Foundation

The Argenteuil Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization that, by creating relationships with donors and the community, solicits donations to support the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre with its projects in order to improve the overall state of health of the population. Volunteer Auxiliary

Composed of some 70 members, the Volunteer Auxiliary group has a mission to raise funds to purchase various equipment required by the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre.

The Volunteer Auxiliary is involved in several ways at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre. Some welcome and orient clients at the Main Entrance, others staff and administer the Boutique Au Coin du Cadeau Gift Shop. Others assist residents with diminished autonomy during the bi-monthly bingo at the Pavilion and la Fontaine residential Units, while others participated in developing a popular cook book producing gratifying sales.

Other volunteer members use the workshop put at their disposal at the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre to craft knitted, embroidered and other sewn articles, to be sold at the Annual Bazaar.

Volunteers

The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre can rely on some sixty volunteers who are actively involved in contributing different services at the institution.

Some are particularly involved in the organization of various activities for the residents at the Pavilion and la Fontaine residential Units. Others assist the Pastoral Care staff, either by distributing communion, transporting patients to the chapel, or by friendly social visits with residents.

 

Users’ Committee

The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre Users’ Committee has a mandate to promote and defend the rights of the people who make use of the care and services offered by the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre. The Committee monitors that Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre clients are treated with respect and dignity, in recognition of their rights and liberties.

The Committee is composed of President Gilles Biron, Secretary-Treasurer William Jackson, Clifton Berry, Hubert Pilon, and Thérèse Poirier. They welcome any comment, complaint, recognition or suggestion from citizens who received health care or social services at Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre.

Residents’ Committee
Under Users’ Committee trusteeship, the Residents’ Committee includes seven members with the mandate to represent the Pavilion and la Fontaine long-term care Units residents.

The Residents’ Committee strives to promote quality lifestyle conditions for long-term care residents, while defending their rights and interests.

Community Institutions and Organizations
The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre works closely with several community stakeholders. Whether area MPs and MNAs, the Argenteuil MRC, municipalities, community organizations, schools, day care centres, youth centres, parishes and churches, emergency services, private residences, pharmacies, or specialists (optometrists, dentists, etc.), the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre has 200 partners throughout Argenteuil.
