OFFICIAL SIGNING OF A SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ARGENTEUIL HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES CENTRE AND CENTRE ANDRÉ-BOUDREAU
WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE TREATMENT OF ADDICTION

It is with joy that directors, managers and caregivers of the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre (CSSSA) and Centre André-Boudreau met to celebrate the official signing of the service agreement between their respective institutions. The agreement aims to facilitate access to services for people with alcohol, drug or gambling problems.

"The addiction problems have a major impact on sufferers. And do not forget that consumption also causes significant harm to other family members, whether the parent, spouse and child. For us, it is therefore essential to ensure the best possible prevention, detection and treatment services are available to the population of Argenteuil. By formalizing this collaboration with the Centre André-Boudreau, we are assuring the quality of care and continuity of services offered by our health care facility and the Laurentians’ dependency Rehabilitation Centre," specified Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre Director General Raymond Roberge.

Accessibility, continuity and quality

For almost 35 years, the Centre André-Boudreau has provided free personalized drug treatment, rehabilitation and social reintegration for youth and adults in the Laurentians and their families. Individuals are guided to develop a lifestyle free of any psychotropic substance or gambling. "Since 2000, specialized Centre André-Boudreau caregivers have received people at their premises in Lachute. The youth team is also working with schools in the area to intervene as early as possible in the lives of young people who have developed consumption problems. For us, it is essential to facilitate maximum access to services and this is what will occur through this agreement," said Centre André-Boudreau Director General Richard Morin. Note that the dependency rehabilitation center also offers services in English to people who request it.

Accessibility, continuity and quality of service are the three basic principles of this agreement. The partners agreed to improve access to their respective services. "The Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre caregivers are able to conduct an assessment of consumption problems of individuals who come to the Health Centre. When necessary, they can quickly be referred to the Centre André-Boudreau caregivers," indicated Roberge. "In return, when a person is receiving our services but would also benefit from receiving services from Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre frontline teams, an agreement like the one we have just concluded facilitates referral" added Morin.

The Centre André-Boudreau and the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Center for are very proud to join efforts by signing this agreement to promote the complementarity and effectiveness of their interventions for the benefit the health of those struggling with addiction problems in Argenteuil.
